Jacketed heat lamps have a quartz glass casing on the outside. They are most commonly used in commercial food service establishments. The outer “jacket” or “sleeve” prevents splashing of food liquids and debris from causing lamp failure, prevents accidental damage, and better resists impact breakage.

They are ideal for food heating and are widely used in catering equipment to keep food at optimum temperatures. Such as food display heating counters (hot food displays and cold food displays) and serving tables.
