The service life of infrared heating lamps will be affected by many factors. Generally speaking, their normal service life is about 5000 hours. The following are some of the main factors that affect their service life:
Filament quality
The filament is the core component of the Infrared Halogen Heater Parts, and its quality directly determines the service life of the heating lamp. High-quality filaments, such as tungsten filaments with higher purity, fine processing and special treatment, can withstand higher temperatures and current loads, and have a relatively long service life of about 5000 hours.
Poor-quality filaments may have problems such as impure materials and rough processing technology. They are prone to local overheating and increased oxidation during use, resulting in premature filament breakage, and the service life may be only 2000 hours or even shorter.
Usage environment
Temperature: If the halogen infrared heating lamp is used in an ambient temperature that is too high or too low, it will affect its service life. In a high temperature environment, the evaporation rate of the filament will accelerate, accelerating the aging of the filament and reducing the service life; in a low temperature environment, the current shock at startup may damage the filament and also affect its life. Generally speaking, the ambient temperature is more suitable between -20℃ and 40℃.
Humidity: A high humidity environment will easily condense water vapor on the surface of the Infrared Halogen Heating Element, which may cause leakage and short circuit of the lamp tube, and accelerate the oxidation of the filament, thus shortening the service life. Therefore, the relative humidity of the use environment should be controlled at 40% to 60%.
Air quality: When used in an environment with a lot of dust, corrosive gases or chemicals, these impurities are easy to adhere to the surface of the lamp tube or enter the inside of the lamp tube, affecting the transmittance and heat dissipation effect of infrared rays, and will also corrode the filament and other components, reducing the service life of the Halogen Infrared Heat Lamp.
Working conditions
Voltage stability: Voltage fluctuations have a greater impact on the service life of short wave quartz glass heating lamp. When the voltage is too high, the current passing through the filament will increase, causing the filament temperature to be too high, accelerating the aging and damage of the filament; when the voltage is too low, the filament cannot reach the normal operating temperature, affecting the heating effect, and will also cause the filament to withstand a large current shock when starting and shutting down, shortening the service life. Therefore, when using, ensure that the voltage is stable within ±10% of the rated voltage.
Working time: Continuous long-term use will keep the filament in a high temperature state, accelerate its aging and loss, and thus shorten its service life. If it is used intermittently, each time is used for a short time, and there is enough cooling time, then the service life of the Infrared Quartz Heating Lamp will be relatively long.
Heat dissipation conditions
Good heat dissipation conditions are essential to extend the service life of Quartz Infrared Heating Element. If the installation position of the heating lamp is not conducive to heat dissipation, or there are obstacles around that affect heat dissipation, the temperature of the lamp tube and filament will be too high, the evaporation rate of the filament will be accelerated, and the aging of the insulation material will be aggravated, thereby reducing the service life. Therefore, when installing the Shortwave IR Heat Lamps, ensure that there is enough space around it to facilitate air circulation to facilitate heat dissipation.
